Garden State

These were the places that we've grown.
Some thing that used to be all are own.
All that I have left is something that I am running from.
I am so numb to this feeling,
I wish I could cry through these scars.
I'm home sick for a place that doesn't exist.
I am blind to things,
And I don't fit in.
Trapped inside of this daze,
Hoping this is just a phase,
or maybe it's these pills I am taking.
They leave me with lightning storms in my brain.
Everyone is saying different things to me,
I can't believe what to see.
Emotionless me,
I am wasting away.
So sad, and so weak.
This is what they say about me.
Everyone's taking everything from me.
My speech is so slur,
I am the curse for this town,
Pure heartlessness is what I've found.
Simple coward is how I react.
This feels like I am dreaming.
I just don't know how to reach you love,
we are just not the same.
I am full of darkness & shadows,
and lonely patterns.
I wish I could stop this from happening,
But heading home is my only direction.
It feels like I am infected,
I am collecting more and more reactions,
But I think your more right then me,
I can see it in your teary eyes.
I am going to believe that you are my life.
We can work out all of this fight,
Because I’m going to stay with you,
Here in the Garden State.

Even On My Worst Days

My eyes are opened wide, And the world is falling to pieces, I feel like sealing my heart completely. The tears still drop towards the ceiling. I wish I could see your beautiful creation again, But everything is still upside down. It’s another fight and one more day on the ground. I can pray for heaven to come raining, But here on earth I am drowning. I can say all the right things, But be misheard by everyone. As I am being pushed out to sea, You’re still out there searching for me. The love you have always strengthens me. And so I step on some toes on my path, And I struggle to trust the people around me, So, I may be losing myself as well, But I know I can never lose your grace. Here I am caught in this dance, Spinning until I finally get my chance. I’ll put one foot forward, I’ll put one foot back, But until we move together, We will continue to lose each other.
