Never Go Away

I took everything that was given
Smashing and stumbling through the hard times
But I am breaking through this sadness
And I am leaving it all behind me.
My heart has been through the gutter,
It has been dragged through the muck,
And stomped on by the heartless.
When the day hits me like thunder
Even when the waves crush me,
And they suck me under like a tornado.
I am still bracing myself for the fall.
Because I know there will be days,
Where I just won’t be able to get up.
So won’t you be there for me,
Helping me up off the gravel?
And when you crumble to the ground,
I will be there waiting lifting when you have fallen down.
I took a look at the midnight sky and there was very little light,
But the one star that shines in my life.
We will struggle to learn our lessons,
And we will burn for all our mistakes,
But joy will come like a smack in the face,
So don’t you lose your faith, 
Because this love will never go away.

Even On My Worst Days

My eyes are opened wide, And the world is falling to pieces, I feel like sealing my heart completely. The tears still drop towards the ceiling. I wish I could see your beautiful creation again, But everything is still upside down. It’s another fight and one more day on the ground. I can pray for heaven to come raining, But here on earth I am drowning. I can say all the right things, But be misheard by everyone. As I am being pushed out to sea, You’re still out there searching for me. The love you have always strengthens me. And so I step on some toes on my path, And I struggle to trust the people around me, So, I may be losing myself as well, But I know I can never lose your grace. Here I am caught in this dance, Spinning until I finally get my chance. I’ll put one foot forward, I’ll put one foot back, But until we move together, We will continue to lose each other.
